white/yellow cream

kyaaaa exams are soooo annoying!!!!!! sometimes the questions that you get. yuzuki is kinda swamped with exams so havent had much time to cook, bake or post >.<

i was however wondering, whenever i look at american and japanese recipe photos, the cream that they use to decorate their cakes is soooooo white but here in london all the cream that i have come across and tried is a creamy yellow colour

do they do something to the cream or is it just the light? and is it possible to get really white coloured cream? or is yuzu just being stupid?

can anyone shed any light?

yuzu.

hello yuzu, by the way you're not stupid. :) different types of cream have different color. Heavy cream or whipping cream has a slightly yellow color, but brands like Arla, President and Elle 'n Vire is white in color (i dont know if these are available in London). One possible thing is maybe they use non-dairy whipping cream for cake finishing, non-dairy creams are pure white in color and looks very appealing... hope this helps!

By the way Anchor and Baker's Best are good brands of non-dairy whipping cream :)
